Looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow night at 7:00. I've decided to have our IAMs gathering at mom and dad's house (better driveway situation). It's at 10225 Manitou Beach dr., about 6 houses east of my house.

Bring your favorite beverage, an appetizer or if you're Lauren, an awesome dessert.....or frankly, nothing at all if you don't have time. No worries. We're just looking forward to seeing everyone.

Embracing Autism: Senior Project and Opportunity for Families

~ Embracing Autism ~

Dear Parents,
My name is John Baker. I am a senior at Bainbridge High School, and I am currently in the process of designing a Senior Project to help families of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. If you are receiving this invitation you and your child or children are invited to attend my event, “Embracing Autism.”

What: Embracing Autism is a one-day activity camp where your child can come and participate in a variety of independent activities. A brief list of these activities includes Legos, arts and crafts, blowing bubbles, and designing your own sock puppet!

Who: You are invited to come and stay with your child throughout the entire event. I will be there to oversee the event and I will have help from other student volunteers and adults who are trained in working with kids with autism.

Where: Strawberry Hill Park, at 7666 NE High School Road.

WhenApril 13, 2014 from 1-4 p.m. Families are welcome to come and go whenever they want, for however long you wish to stay.

Why: To help children with ASD have fun to provide a recreational and leisure opportunity for families and children to come and play celebrating the special qualities that children with Autism bring to our lives.

Additional Details: For my presentation I will need to take photos and take videos of the event. If you are comfortable with having your child be photographed or filmed I would greatly appreciate if you would fill out the photo release sheet attached to this email. Also, during the event, I or one the volunteers might ask you a few short questions about your thoughts on this event for my presentation.

Please contact me at jtbfive@gmail.com to RSVP if you are planning on attending, or if you have any additional concerns or details about your child you feel I should know.

Sincerely,
John
